Exporting From Xero (Manually)
From your Xero dashboard - select “Accounting” and go to “Reports”

On the Reports page, scroll down to "Financial Statements" and select "Profit & Loss”

Select the "Current Financial Year By Month" report If you want to change the date, you can edit it on this page

Select Export to Google Sheets

Manually format the data

Paste the data into the welcome sheet
Be sure to keep the column format the same & overwrite any formulas and dummy data that already exists in the welcome sheet import section

Repeat process on a weekly/monthly basis to keep the sheet updated

Install our google add-on
On the Mapping Sheet, select the gini add-on in the extensions tab, and choose “sync data”

Authorize Xero, and choose the organization you want to sync. Copy the Sheet Name in the Destination

Paste the sheet name over the blue text to the right of “Import Sheet Name”

Mapping Expenses
All your expense categories will now be displayed under the categorisation section. You can select either Sales & Marketing, General & Admin, or R&D as a mapping category for each of your expense categories.

Breakdown Categories

Some categories, such as Salary, may need to be broken down into the subcategories.
In order to do this, create a Breakdown name (such as Salary) and input the % of each category you want the category broken down into. Once this is done, return to the mapping table, and map any categories you want to be broken down to the new Breakdown category.
